Symptoms of Anxiety
  • constant worry

Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Everyone reacts differently to traumatic events.  These events can include domestic violence, sexual or physical assault, war, or a natural disaster.  The trauma can be experienced as a victim or a witness. Some people only have mild reactions to trauma while others may experience ongoing symptoms which interfere with daily life.  The following is a list of common symptoms of PTSD.
 
  • a sense of reliving the event through distressing and intrusive recollections including nightmares, flashbacks, or thoughts
  • a feeling of being in shock or numb
  • feeling detached or estranged from others
  • difficulty concentrating, unable to make decisions
  • irritability and/or feeling on guard or jumpy
  • trouble sleeping 
  • anxiety
